You Can Speak In Public

… Without any of the

  • Sweaty palms
  • Increased heart rate
  • Butterflies in the stomach

There are two ways to approach the problem

  1. Read one of the many “self help” books on the topic. You know, the ones that impress upon you the fact that there is no logical reason for you to be fearful of speaking. Do you really need to hear that? You know the fear is not logical, but it’s REAL. So don’t bother telling me it isn’t.OR…
  2. Actually get over your fear.

And it is not as hard as you may think to do. I know. I did it. And it is not as hard as you think.

The fear of public speaking is buried deep in your mind. It really doesn’t matter how it got there, or why it’s there. We just know that it is. Unlike taking a walk in a dark alley late at night which is a real fear (you don’t know if you will be safe or not) speaking in public is an irrational fear. Even though you know you won’t get mugged doing it, you are still afraid.

The fear is not really about speaking… it’s about messing up and being laughed at, right?

So what can you do.

I listened to a set of CDs for about three weeks and found that the next time I was scheduled to speak in front of a group, I just didn’t get the same sweaty palms or butterflies I got in the past.

I’m not sure why, and I really don’t care. It takes a commitment of about 25 minutes a day for at least three weeks. You listen to one of the CDs (or MP3 downloads) in a quiet place once a day and over the three weeks you just stop worrying about speaking in public, or in front of any group.

Included in the set of CDs is one to listen to the day of, or the day before, you are scheduled to speak. I found this one especially helpful and relaxing.

Why do these CDs work?

I’m not sure and I don’t care. They are supposed to speak to your subconscious and tell you “everything is OK, no need to worry”.  But really, they do work, they require no extra work or time on my part so, who cares how they work.

The CDs are produced by Tom Nicoli. You may have heard about him from Dateline NBC. He was featured on the Dateline Weight Loss Challenge. He helped a pastry chef lose about 40 pounds by listening to his weight loss audio program.

Well, he has done the same sort of thing to help you reduce your fears of public speaking. And the best part is the program has a 90 day, no questions asked money back guarantee. If for any reason you feel it’s not for you, no problem, he will give you a full refund of the purchase price.

Remember, it’s available in CDs or MP3s you can download.
